Feeling like you need a reset?
Hello, how are you this Monday?
Did your day get off to a good start? Are you feeling prepared and ready for the week? It has been a strange start to the year and I have heard from many of you that you are feeling like it has been very start, stop and you have found it hard to get some rhythm going.
For me, I know that some of my routines definitely need tweaking as things have changed. My early morning routine is good but my routine once the kids have left for school, is a bit all over the place at the moment and needs an overhaul.
My allocation of time to tasks is also not where it needs to be. I have become so used to interruptions in my days that I am not using my time as efficiently as I could be. Over the weekend I decided it was time for a reset and I kicked off a couple of key activities that always help me get back on track.
The first activity was created a monthly menu plan. I had been doing weekly menu planning and find it is much less effective, so I created a fresh monthly menu plan to take us all of the way through June. You can find the plans here along with ideas for the kids’ lunch boxes.
The second activity was to start tracking my time so I can get a better handle on:
Where I am really spending my time - we often have a distorted idea of where we are spending our time. You need data to see the truth.
How long some new tasks are taking - I have a lot of new tasks for Adapt Drinks and I think I am underestimating how long they are taking me to do. Underestimating how long they take means I end up under pressure in other areas so I need to address it.
While not uber exciting, this time tracking activity always makes a huge difference. It shows me where I am losing my time and once I start making the appropriate changes, I feel less rushed, and it helps me direct my time to places where I actually want to spend it.
If you feel like it is time for a reset too, then join me as I share more about my reset in the upcoming round of Planned + Present. If you are new to my newsletter and are not aware of Planned + Present, it is my seven-week online course where I teach you how to use planning and organisation to have more time to enjoy family life.
There are no magic wands in the course and it does require you to put in the work to create solid foundations for your family organisation, but this work pays massive dividends in terms of less stress, more time for things that you love, and getting others in the house to help you.
When I last ran P+P in October last year, in recognition of the challenging times we had experienced over the last two years, I offered Planned + Present at a super discounted price. Lots of you took up this offer and I loved taking more people through the course, so I have decided to keep the prices the same for this round too:
Planned + Present Self Paced $49 – usually $149 and this includes lifetime access to the course
Planned + Present Guided $79 – usually $179 and this includes lifetime access to the course and lifetime access to a private Facebook group with weekly Facebook Live videos, so you can receive additional support from me and past members of the course.
Head to the Planned + Present information page to find out more and register and be quick as registrations close at 8am Monday 6th June!
If you have any questions at all, please hit reply to this email and I will get back to you asap.
