How I created my life purpose statement
Share

Good evening,

I hope you have had an excellent weekend. Following on from my newsletter on Living on purpose, I thought I would share with you how I created my life purpose statement. I had some business coaching a number of years ago and the coach asked me what my life purpose was and how my work fitted into it. At that point I didn’t have a life purpose statement and while I focused on yearly goals, I hadn’t really given conscious thought to my overall life purpose, let alone writing it down as a statement.

My homework of course was then to write a life purpose statement. The coach gave me some general pointers to consider, I did some internet searches and came up with an approach to help me write my life purpose statement.

  • love

  • energy

  • laughter

  • nature

  • harmony

  • play

  • respect

  • share

  • contribute

  • connect

  • environment

  • community

  • continual learning

  • family

  • kindness

  • nurture

2). Shortlist of themes

I then made a short list of the themes that were most important to me, which looked like this:
